Gun-wielding individuals have fatally shot an educator and kidnapped no fewer than 25 pupils in an assault against a girls' secondary school in Nigeria's northwestern region, authorities have confirmed.
The criminal group breached the comprehensive secondary school for girls in Maga, Kebbi State at around 4 AM local time on Monday, police confirmed.
The assailants "engaged police personnel on duty in a firefight" before climbing over the boundary wall and seizing the students from their dormitory, an official report indicated.
